IEEE AIxVR 2027, taking place in Vancouver, Canada, from January 25–27, 2027, brings together researchers and professionals working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality technologies, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The conference provides an international platform for presenting cutting-edge research, exchanging ideas across disciplines, fostering new collaborations, and shaping the future of immersive intelligent technologies.
We warmly invite researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals from the VR, AR, MR, and AI communities to contribute to the program by submitting their latest work. In particular, we encourage submissions that explore how AI can enhance immersive technologies, as well as XR research that benefits from intelligent methods and systems. As part of the IEEE community, IEEE AIxVR is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion and adheres to the related policies and guidelines established by IEEE. Please note that this conference was formerly known as IEEE AIVR and was renamed IEEE AIxVR in 2024 to better reflect the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality technologies. At the same time, the conference schedule was moved from December to January. Location & Participation
IEEE AIxVR continues its tradition of rotating annually between the American, European, and Asian regions. Following a highly successful edition in Osaka, Japan, in 2026, we are delighted to welcome the community to Vancouver, Canada, for IEEE AIxVR 2027. Set between the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal Mountains, Vancouver offers a unique blend of natural beauty, technological innovation, and creative industries, making it an ideal setting for discussions on the future of Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality.
IEEE AIxVR is designed as an in-person conference experience, and we highly value the direct interactions and networking opportunities that come with attending on site. However, we also understand that circumstances such as visa issues or other travel limitations may prevent some participants from joining us in Vancouver. For this reason, remote presentation options will be available for authors who cannot travel, although the conference will not provide a full hybrid experience or remote access to all activities.
