IEEE AIxVR 2026, which will take place in Osaka, Japan, from Jan 26-28, 2026, stands out as a distinctive event that brings together researchers and professionals across the spectrum of Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Virtual Reality. This event serves as a global platform fostering collaboration between these diverse fields, facilitating the presentation of cutting-edge advancements, identifying emerging research avenues, and collectively shaping the future of these dynamic research domains.

We extend a warm invitation to researchers specializing in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) to actively participate and contribute by submitting their work to the program. Moreover, we welcome submissions related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) that have a direct correlation to any of these immersive technologies or demonstrate potential applications within them. For detailed information, please consult the call for papers, and join us in the exploration and celebration of the intersections between AI and XR technologies at IEEE AIxVR.

As a member of the IEEE community, IEEE AIxVR is committed to the ethical, moral, and legal guidelines specified in the equity, diversity, and inclusion statements of IEEE. Be aware that this is the website for the conference formerly known as IEEE AIVR, which has been renamed to IEEE AIxVR in 2024 and moved from December to January. We are not affiliated or related in any way to other events named AIVR. See here for information about the history of our event.

VENUE

IEEE AIxVR traditionally rotates each year between countries in the American, European, and Asian time zones. After the successful event in Lisbon, Europe, last year and Los Angeles, CA, USA in the year before, we are excited to bring IEEE AIxVR back to Asia. From Jan 26-28, 2026, the conference will be hosted in Japan at the University of Osaka, a vibrant city in a country known for its rich culture, cutting-edge innovation, and timeless beauty.

IEEE AIxVR is a 'physical first' event, meaning we expect participants to join on location but acknowledge that issues such as visas and limited mobility may prevent authors from traveling to Japan. Therefore, although not providing a hybrid experience, authors who do have travel restrictions will be able to present their work remotely.
